GAA coaching for 4th class every Wednesday morning

Ballapousta Clinch
7-a-side Title
by 6th Class
Ballapousta NS and Kilkerly NS played a very competitive game which finished Ballapousta 7-11 to Kilkerly 2-04 in the end. The game was played in front of a large crown in the County Grounds in Drogheda on October 18th.

Kilkerly got the first point but after that Ballapousta ran riot with goals from Glen Mathews and Ben O'Brien. Ryan Ward also kicked two points in the first half and by half time O'Brien and Mathews had added another three points to the tally.

In the second half Ballapousta started well and midway through the half O'Brien had added another two points to the score. Glen Mathews scored a further 2-02 to take him to a personal total of 4-03. Ryan Ward scored the goal which killed off the game and he added another three points to his tally.

Kilkerly scored 1-02 in the final few minutes but the game was over as a contest by then. John Matthews had a great game in goals and Harry Callaghan and Evan Keenan were like a brick wall in defence. Ryan Ward and Conor Keenan made some great catches in mid-field. Ryan Ward scored 1-05, Glen Mathews 4-03 and Ben O'Brien scored 2-03. Craig Keenan and Alex Marrinan came on as subs and had great games, setting up lots of scores and getting plenty of ball.

Kilkerly were unlucky to come up against a Ballapousta squad playing so well. It was a great feeling to win the Shield, Sciath Mhic Raoise for the first time.

4th Class Boys and Girls Blitz Thursday, November 20th, 2008 at JJB Stadium, Dundalk, organised by Louth County GAA Board Games Development.

All the boys and girls had a fantastic time.
