Welcome back to school for the new school year.

We especially want to welcome the children and parents who have joined us for the first time. We hope that your time with us will be a happy and productive time in your lives.

Staff Changes

We wish to welcome Ms. Ruth O'Callaghan, who will teach the children of 4th class and Miss Jacqueline McNally, who will teach 5th class. We hope that both ladies will have many happy years in Ballapousta National School.

We bid farewell to Mr. Patrick Doran and to Miss Lorraine McGeough who have left us to teach closer to home. We are grateful for all their hard work during their time with us.

Fr. Michael Sheehan, our BOM Chairman and chaplain has been moved to Redeemer Parish in Dundalk. We are thankful for all his work in our school over the past two years.

Friday, September 26th: Staff Meeting. Close at 12.00 noon
Monday, Oct. 27 - Friday 31st: Mid-term break
Friday, Nov. 7th: Staff Meeting. Close at 2.00 p.m.
Monday, Dec. 8th: Church Holy Day
Tuesday, Dec. 23rd: Christmas Holidays. Close at 12.00 noon


Spring Term 2009

Wednesday, Jan. 7th: School reopens for Sprint term.
Friday, Jan. 30th: Staff Meeting. Close at 2.00 p.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 17th: Parent-Teacher meetings. Close at 12.00 noon.
Wednesday, Feb. 18th: Parent-Teacher meetings. Close at 12.00 noon.
Thursday, Feb 19th: Mid-term break.
Friday, Feb 20th: Mid-term break.
Wednesday, March 17th: St. Patrick's Day
Friday, March 20th: Staff Meeting, Close at 2.00 p.m.
Friday, Apr. 3rd: Easter Holidays. Close at 12.00 noon.


Summer Term 2009

Monday, May 4th: Bank Holiday
Friday, May 8th: Staff Meeting. Close at 2.00 p.m.
Friday, May 29th: Holiday
Monday, June 1st: Bank Holiday.

School Year 2009/10

October 2009 mid-term break; All schools will close from 26 to 30 October 2009 inclusive

Christmas 2009 All schools will close on 22 December 2009 which will be the final day of the school term. All schools will re-open on 7 January 2010

February 2010 mid-term break; Primary schools will close from 15 to 16 February 2010 inclusive or 18 to 19 inclusive. (Primary schools may use 3 discretionary days to extend this break to an alternative option of a 5 day break).

Easter 2010 All schools will close on 26 March 2010 which will be the final day of the school term. All schools will re-open on 12 April 2010.

School Year 2010/11
October 2010 mid-term break All schools will close from 25 to 29 October 2010 inclusive

Christmas 2010All schools will close on 23 December 2010 which will be the final day of the school term. All will re-open on 10 January 2011

February 2011 mid-term break; Primary schools will close from 21 to 22 February 2011 inclusive or 24 to 25 inclusive. (Primary schools may use 3 discretionary days to extend this break to an alternative option of a 5 day break).

2011 All schools will close on 15 April 2011 which will be the final day of the school term. All schools will re-open on 3 May 2011. June 6th 2011 School closes for Bank Holiday.
