Following an email from the Education Department of Stafforshire Council, the Principals of Ballapousta NS and Oakridge Primary spoke on the phone. This was followed soon after by further emails between the children of P.6 and 6th class and visits by the staff.

The children of P6 from Oakridge came to Ireland for a week in June. The children visited Kilmainham Jail, Croke Park, Newgrange and Knowth tombs and mounds as well as the high crosses at Monasterboice Abbey.

All the children produced prints based on the high crosses. They also played Gaelic football and Tag rugby in a blitz between the two class groups.
